Blackfish Crafts was founded in 2020 by Porter Bratten. It is located in Anacortes, Washington, the traditional home of the Swinomish Tribe. Below, you can learn a bit more about how we create and make our products in a sustainable fashion. From electricity made from cow poop to how we recycle the leftovers, we are doing what we can to conduct our business responsibly.

Our products are made from electricity made from cow poop.  Through our participation in Puget Sound Energy’s Green Power Program, 100% of the electricity used to produce Blackfish Crafts products comes from naturally replenishing energy sources, like wind, geothermal and cow poop

We recycle all leftover wood from the production process via local Lautenbach Recycling. We have a future goal of utilizing reclaimed or salvaged lumber in our pieces from local Skagit Building Salvage

We use sustainable and recyclable packaging materials from noissue and EcoEnclose. We pay to offset the carbon emissions from every shipment using Cloverly

For every product sold, a tree is planted via Whale Scout, a Washington state non-profit dedicated to helping orcas. One of the best ways to do this is to restore salmon habitat. And one of the best ways to restore salmon habitat is to plant trees.
